Devon Lacy, our top matric performer for 2022, is naturally delighted with his results and excited about embarking on the next step in his journey.
This special edition newsletter is
exclusively focused on the history-making matric results of the Class of 2021 that were released last week.
These results, the best in the history of the school, are detailed throughout this newsletter and are worthy of acknowledgement and celebration.
As we draw near to the end of a very busy Term 2 extramural programme, and the school turns its attention to the mid-year
exams, we thought it appropriate to issue another mini newsletter, this time focused on the cultural offerings at Jeppe High School for
Boys, an appropriate topic given our first ever annual Cultural Festival which concluded
yesterday evening.
Congratulations on all you have achieved; you have worked hard, and you have endured a great deal
to arrive at this moment. It is well deserved!!
You have managed school through a global pandemic and are now
the post covid leadership group; you have built resilience beyond what many people have at your age.
The return to the stage of a full
school production was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the year so far. While we are, slowly but thankfully, getting to the point where we are running out of ‘first time since the pandemic’ experiences, this was certainly one to take grateful note of having been able to see again.
As we conclude our fourth week of Term two, I am sure that parents of the younger boys have begun to realise why this term is traditionally the busiest of the year and, for those parents of the senior boys, they have been reminded, after a two-year Covid-enforced absence, just how busy life at Jeppe can be.
The beauty of the Jeppe High School for Boys campus is one of the many things which draws people to our school. Coupled with beautiful historic buildings and wonderful facilities, our
black, white and gold oasis in Kensington is something many of us could be in danger of taking for granted.
It seems an impossible task to adequately share a reflection on this past term at Jeppe High School for Boys – both personally and in terms of the school at large. First and foremost, perhaps, it is for me to express a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity and privilege which I have enjoyed this term, acting as the Headmaster of Jeppe High School for Boys in the absence of Mr Dale Jackson. In particular, I would like to thank Mr Jackson, the School Executive (Mrs Collette Rattray, Dr Jason Tee and Mr Mike Fennell), the Staff and the members of the Governing Body for their support and faith during this term.

The U14A hockey team won four out of five games at the Nomads Festival in Bloemfontein. Well done coaches and players.
